Singkil is a dance that takes its name from the bells worn on the ankles of the Muslim princess. It's one of the oldest of Filipino dances. Singkil recounts the epic legend of the "Darangan" of the Maranao people of Mindanao. The dancers wear straight, solemn faces and maintain a dignified pose while dancing at a slow pace. The music gradually progresses to a faster tempo while the dancers skillfully manipulate their fans, representing winds. The dancers weave expertly through criss-crossed bamboos.

I've bought a few prints from AtEsFondMemories and this is my favorite. The print quality is perfect at a 16x20 and it's beautiful. It's getting framed.

I am so glad I came across this shop. I ordered several pieces along with a custom. Ethel was AMAZING to work with! She brought my vision to life and I will forever cherish it. They are so vibrant and the paper it's printed on is amazing. I was pleasantly surprised of the quality. Thank you again, Ethel! You rock!!!

Updated Review: After reading my earlier review, Ethel contacted me directly to offer customization which I didn’t know I could ask for. Instead of changing out the piece I already purchased she customized another piece I was also interested. Ethel really cares about about her customer’s experience. I am very happy not only with her artwork, but with her care for her clients. Five stars all the way! ….(Earlier review) Love the art and vibrant colors. It would have been 5 stars for me if the word Sinkil wasn't there (since I know what it is) and if the artist actually signed it. But other than that, I’ve framed it with a beautiful frame and it’s hanging as a centerpiece in our home.
