For those who've never eaten Ube, they're probably unfamiliar of what it is, and where it came from. Ube is a type of water yam that's been grown in South Asia, but has been an indigenous staple of the Philippines but now enjoyed all over the world!
Have you ever tried peeling a raw ube? It's surface is thick, quite rough, and unattractive. However, once you peel it all off, the flesh you get from within is like jewel. It's bright purple and absolutely beautiful!
